Setting up a Facebook Account

Hi, guys!

In today’s post I will show you how to create a Facebook profile,  how to put your business on Facebook and how to promote your business on Facebook. Moreover, I will also tell you how you can use Facebook to promote your website for free. Don’t worry, it is pretty easy and if you have any other questions left after reading this post, please ask them in the comment sections!

Let’s begin!

Step 1) How to create a Facebook profile

In order to create a Facebook page for your business, you will need a Facebook profile. Therefore, the first step for you is to create your own Facebook profile. If you already have one, then you can skip this step. You can’t have more than a Facebook account because that will be a violation of rules.

In order to begin copy paste the following link in your browser’s search bar: www.Facebook.com

Fill up your contact information, read the Terms, Policy and Cookie Use and hit the Sign Up button. Since 2016 you didn’t had to write your phone number. Don’t worry, you can set up later in order to no be displayed on your profile.

After you created your Facebook profile you should get redirected to a page similar to this.

Of course, having a brand new account won’t show you the same stuff to you. Click on your name, on the top bar where the arrow no 1 is pointing in order to personalize your profile. There you can upload a profile picture, a cover photo and write some data about yourself. You can skip this process but by completing it you will gain more trust from your followers.

Step 2)  How to put your business on Facebook

If you take a look at the above image, you will see that the arrow 2 is pointing to a CREATE section. From there click on Page and it should open a new page similar to this one.

You can choose between Company, Organization or Institution or Brand or Product. After choosing your category and name and after you read the Facebook terms, click on Get Started.

Start by adding a relevant photo and a cover letter. Continue with adding relevant information about your company. In order to share pages and posts from your website take a look at this post where I show you how to share your website pages and posts to a Facebook group.

Make sure that when you are creating posts on your Facebook page to not forget to add the #. On Google people find your website by searching different keywords on the search bar. On Facebook, in order for your page to be discovered in needs to contain # before specific words relevant to your business. Check the images below to see examples:

That’s all on how to put your business on Facebook. Next step? To promote it!

I haven’t paid for advertisement yet and I will show you a few ways to promote your business without them. Unfortunately, there aren’t many free ways to promote your Facebook page and business, but if you put your mind on it, those could do the trick.

Promote your page through Facebook groups

If you have a business in a niche, wouldn’t the best way of promoting it to be in groups for people on that specific niche? Let’s say that your business specializes in Weight loss. There are tons of groups on Facebook about this niche. You can simply search them in the search bar and join them. Check this post where I show exactly how to share a post from a website to a Facebook group through your Facebook Page.

I find that promoting your page through Facebook groups can sometimes be a waste of time. However, I wrote another post on explaining what I mean about this and where I also give a few tips in order to improve your engagement with the people reached. Check this post to see what I am talking about!

Promote your page through other Facebook pages

Another way of free promotion is to promote your page through the pages of other people. Reach out to the admins of other pages on the same niche as you are and ask them if they would accept to share each other’s posts. This will help both of you to grow your audience. However, be prepared for denial since most of them would probably refuse them. Try offering them something else in exchange such as free advertising for a month when your website reaches a higher audience. Or maybe your business creates different products and you can offer the owner the product in exchange for advertising.

Promote your page through your friend network

You can ask your friends to share your page on their timeline. I am not a big fan of this and I would probably never do it because I don’t want my friends and acquaintances to know everything that I am doing. However, if you have no problem with this you can easily ask them, but don’t expect to have great conversions on your website.

Promote your page through Youtube videos

If creating a video doesn’t sound complicated to you, then you can create tons of Youtube videos every week and publish them. Ask at the end of the video for people to share & like both your video and your Facebook page.  This is a simply and fun method to gain more audience.

Promote your page through other Social media networks

This is the same procedure as the Youtube videos. However, instead of videos you can publish posts on Twitter, instagram, pinterest, G+ and Reddit. Ask people for feedback. They always love to be asked for help!

Write more and more posts with hashtags

I know, it doesn’t sound too much. However, I have a Facebook page about Halloween costumes that I created 2 weeks before Halloween. I had around 2-3 likes during the Halloween and I haven’t published any other post from then. Six months later my page reached a total amount of 54 likes while I actually haven’t done anything to it! Those # are a great way to grow your audience in a passive way!

Ask your visitors to like your Facebook page on your website

There is a large amount of traffic that will visit your website. You can ask them to like and follow your social media accounts.

Those are all the methods that I am currently aware of guys! If you have any questions or know any other methods please share them with me in the comment section below!

Remember that sharing is caring ! ^_^
