How to have a static front page on Sydney

Hi, guys!

In this post, I am going to show you how to create a static page.

Now, let me make this clear.

When you create a website and you start to create more and more posts, you will see that all of your posts will get to the front page of your website. Due to various reasons, some people might not want this to happen.

For instance, if you have a website about losing weight and after some time when you will have 5000-10000 visitors per month, you decide to create a post about eating canned beans, maybe people who will come to your website might think that this is an odd way to lose weight.

This is a very simple process and I think that it will only take 2-3 minutes.

Before I will show you how to do this, you will need to create a page which you want to show to all of your visitors. Look at it as a post which makes an introduction to your website. State who you are & how your website is able to help your visitors.

Don’t make a 1000+ post. Nobody has that kind of time to read every single sentence that you write.

Once you have created and published your page, here is how to make it stay on the front page.

While you’re in WordPress dashboard, go to the left menu, click on Appearance and on Customize.

From here, a live preview of your website should open. Once the browser loaded the page, go to the left menu, scroll down and click on ” Homepage Settings “.

As a default, your homepage will display your latest posts. Go to the Homepage and select the page that you just created.

That’s it! Don’t forget to save it before exiting the live preview!
